Symbols Series: Inter - Cultura - December 2014

PIGMENTOS NATURALES DEL RIO CUMBAZA.  GRACIAS A LOS ELEMENTOS: FUEGO, TIERRA, AGUA Y AIRE.

Aucaloma is based in the high mountains close to the village of San Roque where the Sachaqa Centro De Arte is based.  The village is positioned far away from any rivers, the people suffer from not having a basic water supply.

I collected a variety of colored stones from the banks of the river in San Roque for this work.  The stones were then ground and placed into individual bags.  The idea was that each line around a symbol was to be painted with a different stone, having a slightly different tone.   To portray a harmony and natural movement within its subtle changes.  A reflection of the Natural environment.

The intention of this mural was to bring a piece of the River Cumbaza to the people and to open a portal of healing and abundance.
