When I was a student at Sunderland University my partner at the time was a great influence on my work.  Kenny Chan was born on a small island called ‘Duck Island’ close to Hong Kong.  After leaving university the Chinese culture became a large part of my life.  Kenny inspired me to think in new ways, he had created a piece while we were students that repeated the same square and circle symbol, over and over.  The idea was how through repetition, gradual inevitable change take place.
